So you want to write military stuff and see your name in print?

And perhaps even get some money for your effort? Why not, I say. That’s the way writing and publishing are supposed to work.

We want all your military stories, write ups and takes on various battles, we want to publish them and pay you royalties for you sold stories.

And this is very simple.

1. Get a Word Press account here. When you do you will be set up as a “contributor”. That means someone has to look at your work before it is published (just to make sure it’s not spam or porn). After you’ve published a few articles you will be made an “author” which means you will be able to publish your own work directly.

2. Make sure that you have a Fraxion Payments account. Although this will happen automatically when you go to publish your first article.

3. Then log in here, write and publish your stories, lock the article and set your price. When readers unlock and read your stories, royalties, which we pay 90%, will be sent to you (conditions apply which come from Fraxion Payments).

Writing Suggestions

Here at Sword and Rifle we don’t want to tell you how to write and nor do we have to. If your writing is good, then people will buy your work. If not, then they won’t.

But here are some suggestions. It is entirely up to you whether you use them or not.

Make sure you run the spell checker as the last thing you do. Readers hate finding basic spelling mistakes.
Make sure your grammar is consistent. For example, you use the same tense throughout your article. Don’t switch between past (I had, I went) and present perfect (I have had, I have been). Using simple past is often the best (I ran, swam, etc).
Have appropriate paragraph breaks.
Make sure you read it at least four times (six would be better) before publishing your story. This is looking for mistakes and errors that you may have missed.

As with anything, the better you get at it, the more readers will seek you out and buy your work. Good luck.

Conditions

You as the writer retain the copyright ownership of any submissions you send us, but give us permission to publish it here, for which you will be paid a percentage of what the article generates in sales (that is, unlocks through the Fraxion Payments system) not including certain costs of sale.
